About the Missionary Intern
Thomas was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee.
He attended Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, where he received a B.A. in Journalism & Mass Communications in 2003. He worked for two years in Memphis in sales & marketing at Williams Equipment & Supply Company before moving to Orlando, FL to attend Reformed Theological Seminary. He just completed his first year in the Masters of Divinity program. Thomas will be serving for three months in Taiwan over the summer of 2006. He will help in a variety of ways at two bi-lingual English/Mandarin church plants in two cities in northern Taiwan: Taipei and HsiChi. He will be working under a team from TCPP who planted these churches in 2003 and 2005 in conjunction with the native Reformed Presbyterian Church of Taiwan. They plan to put Thomas to use in a full range of church planting work and give him feedback and training in: teaching & preaching, discipling younger Taiwanese men, evangelism and outreach, administration as well as giving Thomas exposure to life as a missionary and the Taiwanese culture in particular. Thomas' summer missionary internship is geared both to help the church planting team and also give Thomas a taste of this mission field to explore his gifts and calling for what he will do after he graduates from seminary. May the Lord raise up more workers for the harvest. |
