Before elected ruling elders in their local churches can be ordained, the exam committee of the presbytery will examine them as follows:

Scope of test for elders: written and oral test, 3 areas below, written test not required of elders over 60.

1. 聖經：以創世記、出埃及記、以賽亞書、四福音書、保羅書信等卷為主。
1. Bible: mainly Genesis, Exodus, Isaiah, the Gospels, Romans
• 摩西的生平 the life of Moses
• 十誡、主禱文的內容 ten commandments, contents of the Lord’s prayer
• 以賽亞書中關於彌賽亞的預言 Messianic prophecies in Isaiah
• 福音書中耶穌生平 life of Jesus as described in gospels
• 保羅的生平及著作 life and writings of Paul

2. 教義：西敏信條、系統神學
2. Doctrine: Westminster Confession of Faith, systematic theology

• 啟示論與神論 Doctrine of Revelation, theology —
  • 神的啟示 the revelation of God
  • 聖經無誤 infallibility of the scriptures
• 人論 Doctrine of Man —

  • 罪的定義 the definition of sin
• 基督論 Christology —
  • 基督的神性和人性 the divinity and humanity of Christ
  • 基督代贖的果效 the efficacy of Christ’s redemptive sacrifice
• 救恩論 Soteriology (Doctrine of Salvation) —
  • 三一神在救恩工作上的不同角色the triune God's various roles in salvation
  • 一次得救永遠得救的觀念 the concept of “once saved always saved”
• 教會論 Ecclesiology (Doctrine of Christ's Church) —
